Piada Gives: 2024 Community Impact
Together, we've raised more than $70,000 this year for nonprofit organizations making a difference in our communities. We believe genuine hospitality— one of our core values— spans far beyond our restaurant walls and our team is incredibly proud to support extraordinary organizations across the country through our Piada Gives program.
When you opt-in to our Piada Gives program in the Piada app, we pledge to donate 1% of every purchase you make to our quarterly charity or non-profit benefitting one of our four focused pillars: Education, Eliminating Food Insecurity, Social Equality, and Cancer Research.
From January to March of this year, our Piada Gives partner was Pelotonia, a Columbus-based organization raising money to fund cancer research. Our team had the opportunity to participate in the Pelotonia bike race this year to further connect and experience the impact of Pelotonia. Go team go!
For the month of March, we donated $1 for every Lemon Kale Caesar Salad ordered. We were able to donate $20,000 to Pelotonia this year and are so proud to have worked with this amazing organization and continue to support a fantastic cause.
From April to June, GLSEN, a national non-profit supporting the creation of a safe and inclusive school environment for LGBTQ+ youth, was our Piada Gives partner.
In addition to 1% of every Piada Giver purchase, we also donated 10% of all Cannoli Chip sales in the month of June. We even gave our Cannoli Cream a special upgrade for the month and added rainbow sprinkles to your favorite dessert. Over $8,000 was donated to support safe spaces for our youth.
July through September, we worked with local Boys and Girls Clubs to support their mission to provide safe spaces for youth to learn, grow, develop, and build healthy relationships.
We hosted our first-ever Piada Gives Day on Friday, August 16th, where we popped up in four markets to give away prizes, sample lemonade, and donate 100% of Blackberry Hibiscus Lemonade sales back to BGC that day. All stores participated in the lemonade donation, but we were on-site in Frisco, TX, Raleigh, NC, Indianapolis, IN, and Columbus, OH. This activation and our continued support from Piada Givers and round-up donations allowed us to donate over $28,000 to local Boys & Girls clubs. Special Guest appearances included NC State Basketball players, Breon Pass and Dontrez Styles!
October to December caps off the 2024 year with local food bank partners in each of our 12 markets. 18 million Americans experienced food insecurity in 2023 (USDA ERS, 2024) and the holiday season can be an especially difficult time. We’re hoping to match last year’s donation to local foodbanks of over $21,000.
