We love fresh food. And we love supporting local farms. Recently, Chef Matt (our head culinary chef), Chef Jorge (Regional Market Partner) and Chef Andrew (head chef at Piada Easton) stopped by the Easton Farmer’s Market in Columbus, Ohio and purchased produce from Roger Graves’ Yankee Street Farm [based in Vinton, OH]. The Graves’ family is six generations deep in growing fresh produce and selling it at local farmer’s markets. Roger Graves attends the Easton Farmer’s Market every week and works alongside his grandson (Noah) and nephew (Rodney).

Chef Matt, Chef Jorge and Chef Andrew hand-picked fresh zucchini and decided to craft Zucchini Fritte in Piada Easton’s kitchen. Zucchini Fritte is thinly Julienned zucchini, lightly seasoned with spices, breaded with semolina, flash fried and served with our house-made Spicy Tuscan dressing. It turned out to be a huge hit and locals were thrilled. We offered Zucchini Fritte at Piada Easton while supplies lasted over the weekend of July 4th and sold out quickly as guests couldn’t get enough.

Being a part of our local communities is something we value as a company. We love investing in and building relationships with other like-minded companies and making Zucchini Fritte from the Yankee Street Farm at Piada Easton is just one example. We are eager to create more recipes in the upcoming months with fresh produce we purchase from local farmers.
